    http://www.veteransdental.com/

Named for Sgt. Clint Ferrin, who died in March of 2004 while serving in Iraq as a member of the 82nd Army Airborne Division from North Carolina.
    • Clint Ferrin’s brother, UNLV dental student John Ferrin, a second lieutenant in the National Guard, saw a need to provide dental care for Nevada Army National Guard soldiers who were not eligible for deployment because of dental disease and could not afford the cost of treatment or private dental insurance.
    • The clinic began July 2008 for soldiers of the Nevada Army National Guard and was expanded to treat all veterans of war.
    • As of March 2009, 53 soldiers have received dental care and 50 people are on a waiting list.
    • To qualify for the free clinic, veterans must present military identification stating veterans’ status, have no dental insurance and bring documentation that shows a household income of less than $25,000.

    MEMORIAL PROJECT ON CAMPUS

Currently, the UNLV Student Veterans Organization is involved in a Veterans Memorial project; the Las Vegas Valley currently has no Veterans Memorial. UNLV's Student Veterans Organization has proposed that a monument be erected on their public campus and it has been APPROVED by UNLV President Smatresk.

UNLV SVO HELP 'HAITI'

January 19, 2010 1:33 PM

Greetings:

As your new President of Student Veterans Organization (SVO) I would like challenge each of you in participating in the continued support of the disaster in Haiti, if you have not already done so.  It's hard to watch the suffering of human life and not being able to do anything about it, but at the same time there have been successful rescues, which makes it optimistic for a lot families around the world and there is a little something we can all do.

Here is what I would like everyone to do (and again only if you have not done so and if you want to) and that is to text the word 'HAITI' to 90999 and $10 will go to the support in the crisis in HAITI.  The money goes directly to the Red Cross and will be documented on your bill.  YOU ARE NOT OBLIGATED TO SUPPORT THIS CAUSE.

If you do decide to support and even if you already supported please respond to this email and your dollar amount in order for me to document how our organization participated in the continued support of the Haiti crisis and in the time of need.

Thank you for your continued support.

Rebel regards,

Good evening and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

We are about to embark on a brand new semester and our organization has been invited to the iFair  or (Involvement fair).  This will take place from Feb 2-3, 2010 from 1000-1500 each day.  We are slotted for both days and we need as many of our members there as possible.  Take some time and review the flyer.

On Jan 26 myself and the Vice (if possible) will attend a pre meeting for the fair at 530pm in order to let the program organizers know what we intend to announce about our organization.  This will be held in the student union, room to be announced.

I want to re-iterate that this is our chance to get information out to our fellow colleagues so that they know there is a strong advocacy group on campus that cares about there educational success!  Please email to let me know what days you are interested, and if you could; make this one time sacrifice if there is a conflict in your schedule.  I WOULD LOVE TO SEE EVERYONE THERE EACH DAY, AND WE CAN WORK OUT A SCHEDULE FOR EVERYONE WHEN WE CONVENE.

Thank you for your continued support.
