March 06, 2010 4:02 PM

All:

After a two-year long deliberation, the MU faculty council has approved a measure to award veterans academic credit for education and training received will in the military.

Although the details are still being hashed out, the MSVA feels that this is a very important day for veterans at MU.

Thanks to all who helped out with this cause.

Mizzou Veterans receives SVA Grant!

November 30, 2009 9:00 AM

Hello All:

In November, the Mizzou Student Veterans Association (MSVA) was selected as one of the ten SVO's to receive the very first SVA Chapter Grant.  Our stated goal was to help raise much needed funds for our growing organization to purchase t-shirts to sell to our members and the community.  With the grant, we were able to purchase 50 shirts!

We got the shirts in time for the 2nd Annual Mizzou Veterans Week on campus and wore them proudly to several events around campus.  It gave us high visibility on campus as well as the community.  At one event, we raised over $600 worth of household items that we donated to the HUD-VASH program here in Columbia, MO.  The program assists homeless veterans find housing in the local community.

Thanks SVA!

Daniel Sewell, President, MSVA
