    Student Veterans of Louisiana State University

     

    Mission: To facilitate ease in a veteran's transition from military to civilliam life, create an environment in which the veteran can be best equipped to be successful in the classroom, and ultimately ensure that he or she be advocated for properly in the rich military tradition of LSU, promulgating the definition of "Forever LSU."

    Membership: Any member of the U.S. Armed Forces; Active Duty, Reserve, National Guard; Separated under Honorable Conditions or otherwise Retired may become a member, however one can become an associate member with no military experience whatsoever, as long as they are in support of the cause and organization.

    Meetings: Monthly meetings take place on campus for all members and associate members, special sessions may be called from time to time, aside from regularly scheduled events that the organization takes an active role in providing community service, outreach, or volunteering.

    Activities: We are involved with numerous activities on campus and throughout the community. Tailgating, Sporting Events, Group Travel, Conferences Nation-Wide, and Community Service, name only a few of the activities we offer our members to take part in that carry in the military tradtion of never leaving a comrade behind.

    Services: If there is any roadblock a veteran, or someone in receipt of VA benefits runs into, whether that be Educational, Disability Services, or even Personal Matters. It doesn't matter; we provide assistance anytime, day or night, year round. Life doesn't stop at the classroom door, and neither do we.

Veterans Honor Medal

Governor Bobby Jindial is personally giving out Veteran Honor Medals. If any Louisiana veteran is interested in receiving this honor, contact your Parish Service Officer and he will tell you when the Gov is in your town.

SERVE

We are currently working to implement the SERVE program at LSU. We want veterans to go to school as well as stay in school. We beleive that educated veterans make a stonger nation. Veterans make the best leaders since they have already had that experiance under certain enveriments.
