Luke Stalcup joined the Army when he was 18. In the Army he was trained as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Specialist. He deployed to the Persian Gulf in 2002 and participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom. In 2004 he separated from the US Army as a staff sergeant. In 2008 he graduated from Columbia University with a double major in Math and Middle Eastern and Asian Languages and Cultures. He is now working on his masters degree at the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University.
